Orthotics
Commonly known as insoles, foot orthotics help support the foot structure, offload areas of high pressure, and improve biomechanics, reduce pain and improve sport performance. For some patients the benefits of foot orthotics may be felt all the way up in the back. At The Spot Rehab, our orthotics are made fully custom to your sport, profession and individual specific needs. We go through a meticulous assessment process and follow up appointments to ensure our product performs perfectly.

Bracing
At the Spot Rehab, we can have any custom brace manufactured to manage an injury or ailment. We begin with a thorough health history and orthopedic examination. Once the initial assessment is completed, a specific type of brace can then be prescribed/recommended and precise measurements can be taken in order to fabricate a fully customized brace. For best results, wearing a custom braces/support is often recommended as part of an overall treatment plan with one of our Chiropractors, Physiotherapists or Athletic Therapists.

Compression
Spider veins, varicose veins and thromboses are very common and can have various different causes. There are many reasons for while these changes occur: genetic predisposition, hormonal changes and/or age-related weakness of the connective tissue are contributing factors. Other common factors include being overweight, smoking or a sedentary lifestyle. You can actively influence the risks with compression.

Pelvic floor physiotherapists have special training to help men and women rehabilitate their pelvic floor muscles. These muscles can be injured or weakened by childbirth, surgery, heavy lifting, obesity, chronic constipation or cough and/or menopause.

Our Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists will perform an assessment that includes a detailed history to better understand your complaints related to bowel and bladder function, sexual activity, sleep, stress and general health.

Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs as a client. There is an external examination component where the skin, fascia, and muscles of the abdomen, core, lower back, and inner thighs are assessed. If needed, Pelvic floor Physiotherapists are also trained to assess internally which is done via a digital (finger) vaginal and/or rectal exam. An internal exam is not always necessary, but can be helpful to get a full picture of the issues you may have. It also adds valuable insight to better enhance your treatment plan and reach the best outcomes possible, in the shortest amount of time.

Reggie is a Registered Physiotherapist who completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. He became passionate about rehabilitation and recovery after his own injuries - ranging from ankle sprains, fractures, and an ACL injury. In the clinic, he hopes to pay this forward to his own patients by providing individualized and thorough care.

In treatment sessions, he focuses on: 1) Calming the region down - using manual therapy, acupuncture, or other modalities. 2) Building it back up - curating an individualized exercise program to improve the strength of the affected and associated regions. 3) Education - providing recommendations to modify activities or self-manage the injury at home.

Additionally, he has completed additional training in concussion and vestibular rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and acupuncture. Outside the clinic, Reggie can either be seen on the court shooting hoops, on the green hitting pars, or in the gym chasing PRs
